We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sailmaker to join our dynamic team in Rostock. This hands-on role involves a wide range of tasks related to sail repair, canvas fabrication, and general marina work. You will be instrumental in ensuring the performance and longevity of sails and marine textiles for our diverse client base. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Perform comprehensive repairs and modifications to sails, including patching, resewing, and hardware replacement.
• Fabricate custom marine canvas products such as boat covers, biminis, dodgers, and enclosures.
• Measure, cut, and sew various types of sailcloth and marine fabrics using industrial sewing machines.
• Inspect rigging components and provide basic maintenance or flag issues for further repair.
• Manage inventory of sailmaking materials, hardware, and supplies.
• Consult with clients to understand their needs, provide accurate quotes, and deliver tailored solutions.
• Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality, durability, and aesthetics.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the sail loft and on the marina.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience in sailmaking, canvas work, or industrial textile fabrication.
• Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, including straight stitch and zig-zag machines.
• Strong knowledge of various sailcloth types, marine fabrics, and hardware.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in measurements and craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced marina environment.
• Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of yacht rigging and sail trim principles.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Formal training or certification in sailmaking, marine upholstery, or textile technology.
• Experience with sail design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf) for pattern creation.
• Familiarity with various marine systems and components.
• Proficiency in German language (verbal and written) to communicate with local clients and suppliers.
• Previous experience working in a marina or shipyard setting.
• A passion for sailing or other water sports.
