We are seeking a talented and innovative Hybrid Tidal Energy Systems Designer to join our cutting-edge R&D team in Lustenau, Austria. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and optimization of integrated tidal energy systems, combining various renewable energy sources to create efficient and sustainable power solutions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, transforming complex engineering challenges into practical and deployable designs, playing a crucial part in advancing the future of clean energy. This position demands a strong foundation in hydrodynamics, electrical engineering, and mechanical design, coupled with a passion for renewable energy technologies.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Develop detailed designs and specifications for hybrid tidal energy systems, including turbines, generators, power conversion units, and grid integration components.
• Perform feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and techno-economic analyses for proposed system configurations.
• Utilize CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting of mechanical and structural components.
• Conduct simulations and analyses of system performance, fluid dynamics (CFD), and structural integrity.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers, as well as marine biologists and environmental specialists, to ensure integrated and compliant designs.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving sessions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in tidal energy technology, hybrid systems, and marine engineering.
• Support the commissioning and testing phases of prototypes and pilot projects.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Strong understanding of hydrodynamics, fluid mechanics, and marine engineering principles.
• Experience with renewable energy system design, particularly tidal or hydropower.
• Knowledge of electrical power generation, grid integration, and power electronics.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and simulations (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with multi-physics simulation software.

• Knowledge of marine environmental regulations and safety standards.
