We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Boat Builder / Shipwright to join our dynamic team at our facility in Essen, Germany. This is an exceptional opportunity for a craftsman passionate about marine construction and repair to contribute to projects that set industry standards for quality and innovation. As a Boat Builder / Shipwright, you will be responsible for the precise construction, repair, and maintenance of various marine vessels and components. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the structural integrity, aesthetic finish, and overall seaworthiness of our projects. You will work with a variety of materials including wood, fiberglass, composites, and metals, utilizing traditional techniques alongside modern technologies.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Execute precise construction and assembly of boat components and full hull structures according to blueprints and specifications.
• Perform comprehensive repair and restoration work on existing vessels, addressing structural damage, wear, and tear.
• Conduct routine maintenance and refitting tasks, ensuring all marine systems and components are in optimal working order.
• Work proficiently with a diverse range of materials including wood, fiberglass, composites, and various metals (steel, aluminum).
• Operate and maintain a wide array of hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and other tradespeople to achieve project goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven expertise in boat building or shipwright work, demonstrating high-level craftsmanship.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Extensive knowledge of marine construction techniques and materials.
• Strong practical skills in carpentry, lamination, welding, and finishing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Completed apprenticeship or vocational training as a Boat Builder, Shipwright, or similar marine craft.
• Certifications in specific marine trades (e.g., welding, composite repair).
• Experience with naval architecture principles or yacht construction.
• Fluency in German (B2 level or higher) is a plus for effective team communication.
