We are seeking a talented and motivated Hybrid Bioinformatics Developer with a strong focus on genomic data to join our innovative team in Munich. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in precision medicine, working with large-scale genomic datasets to uncover insights that drive new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines, analyze complex genomic data, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and clinicians. This is a hybrid role, combining the flexibility of remote work with the collaborative environment of our state-of-the-art facilities.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of various genomic data types (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-seq, single-cell sequencing).
• Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of large genomic datasets, identifying biomarkers and novel disease mechanisms.
• Collaborate with experimental scientists to understand research objectives and translate biological questions into computational solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
• Maintain and document bioinformatics tools, scripts, and databases.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and mentor junior team members.
• Present findings and results to internal stakeholders and scientific communities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for bioinformatics tasks.
• Strong experience with genomic data analysis (e.g., variant calling, differential expression, structural variant detection).
• Familiarity with common bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., GATK, samtools, bedtools, Ensembl, TCGA).
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment and with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solid understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and genomics concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
• Experience with machine learning techniques applied to genomic data.
• Knowledge of public and proprietary genomic datasets and their application.
