Are you a language enthusiast with a passion for translation and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a global company? Lionbridge is seeking a motivated Working Student (Werkstudent) to join our remote Translation Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their linguistic skills, learn about the professional localization industry, and contribute to meaningful projects. You will work flexibly from home, supporting our core translation and linguistic quality assurance processes.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in the translation, editing, and proofreading of various content types (e.g., marketing materials, technical documents, UI strings) from English into German, and potentially other languages.
• Conduct linguistic quality assurance (LQA) checks on translated content to ensure accuracy, style, and adherence to client-specific guidelines.
• Perform terminology research and help maintain glossaries and style guides.
• Support project managers with administrative tasks related to translation projects.
• Learn to use Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and other localization software.
• Collaborate with diverse international teams to ensure high-quality linguistic deliverables.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Philology, or a related field.
• Native-level proficiency in German and fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent command of grammar, syntax, and style in target languages.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of translation memory and terminology management concepts.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
• Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian).
• Prior experience with translation or localization projects (academic or professional).
• Knowledge of different content types and industry-specific terminology.
