Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Beekeeping Assistant to join our apiary team in Augsburg. This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with bee colonies, contributing to the health and productivity of our apiaries. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for nature, and the physical stamina required for outdoor and manual tasks. No prior beekeeping experience is strictly necessary, as we provide comprehensive training, but a willingness to learn and work closely with our experienced beekeepers is essential.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in routine apiary inspections, including hive health checks and pest/disease monitoring.
• Support the management of bee colonies, including feeding, watering, and swarm control.
• Help with hive maintenance, repair, and assembly of new equipment.
• Participate in honey harvesting, extraction, and processing activities.
• Transport beehives and equipment to various locations as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the apiary site and equipment.
• Keep accurate records of hive activities, treatments, and production.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and animal welfare standards.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license (Class B/3) for transporting equipment and hives.
• Comfort working around bees and an understanding of bee behavior (or willingness to learn).

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Previous experience in beekeeping, agriculture, or animal husbandry.
• Knowledge of bee biology and common apiary practices.
• First aid certification.
• Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance.
