As a Hybrid Ethical AI Policy Advisor specializing in Tech Governance at Google, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies that ensure our AI technologies are built and deployed ethically and responsibly. You will work within our multi-disciplinary team, navigating the complex intersection of AI innovation, regulatory compliance, and societal impact. This role requires a deep understanding of AI principles, ethical frameworks, and the evolving global regulatory landscape to advise product teams, engineers, and leadership. You will contribute to Google’s commitment to leadership in responsible AI, fostering trust and promoting beneficial outcomes.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Develop, refine, and implement comprehensive ethical AI policies and guidelines across various product areas.
• Advise product, engineering, and research teams on best practices for ethical AI development, deployment, and governance.
• Conduct AI ethics impact assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks and biases.
• Monitor the evolving global regulatory landscape for AI and ensure Google's policies and practices remain compliant.
• Collaborate with legal, public policy, and external affairs teams to shape Google's stance on AI ethics and governance.
• Facilitate training and awareness programs for internal stakeholders on ethical AI principles and responsible innovation.
• Represent Google in discussions with external stakeholders, industry bodies, and academic institutions on AI ethics.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Demonstrable understanding of AI/ML concepts, their applications, and potential societal impacts.
• Strong knowledge of ethical AI frameworks, principles, and emerging global regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).
• Proven experience in policy development, analysis, or advisory roles, preferably within the technology sector.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and make informed, ethical decisions.

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a tech governance or AI ethics role at a leading technology company.

• Experience engaging with external policy makers, NGOs, or academic institutions on technology policy issues.
• Fluency in German or French.
