Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to join our team in Berlin. This role is crucial in managing and supporting our network of volunteers, ensuring they are engaged, well-informed, and effectively contributing to MSF’s mission. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the full volunteer lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training, engagement, and retention. You will act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, fostering a supportive and motivating environment. This is an on-site position based in our Berlin office, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to humanitarian efforts locally and globally.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, selection, and placement.
• Organize and conduct orientation sessions and ongoing training programs for volunteers.
• Act as the main point of contact for all volunteer-related inquiries and support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records and databases.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
• Develop and implement volunteer recognition and retention programs.
• Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures related to volunteer management.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience in volunteer coordination or similar role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (C1/C2 level).
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of humanitarian principles.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
• Knowledge of German language (B2 level or higher) is a plus.
• Experience working within an NGO or non-profit environment.
• Familiarity with volunteer management software (e.g., Salesforce, Better Impact).
• Experience in training and public speaking.
