Are you a highly motivated university student with a passion for history, art, or archaeology? The Musées cantonaux du Valais is seeking a dedicated Working Student to support our curation team. This unique opportunity offers hands-on experience in various aspects of museum work, from collection management to exhibition preparation. We value diverse perspectives and are specifically looking for candidates who can contribute to our international environment. Crucially, proficiency in German is NOT required for this role; strong English and/or French skills are sufficient. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience in museum curation while continuing their studies.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist curators with research for upcoming exhibitions and publications.
• Support in the documentation and cataloging of museum collections.
• Help with the preparation, installation, and de-installation of exhibitions.
• Conduct preliminary research on artifacts and artworks.
• Provide administrative support to the curation department.
• Assist with condition reporting and basic collection care tasks.
• Collaborate with other museum departments on special projects.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Currently enrolled in a university program (e.g., History, Art History, Archaeology, Museum Studies, Cultural Management).
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated interest in museums, cultural heritage, or the arts.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Basic knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.
• Previous volunteer or internship experience in a museum or cultural institution.
• Familiarity with collection management software.
