We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pattern Maker / Seamstress to join our dedicated atelier team in Thun. This pivotal role involves the meticulous creation of patterns from initial design concepts, translating sketches into precise garment components, and constructing high-quality prototypes and finished luxury garments. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional eye for detail, a deep understanding of garment construction, and a passion for luxury fashion and fine tailoring.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Develop accurate and precise patterns from initial design sketches and specifications, ensuring perfect fit and drape.
• Draft, modify, and grade patterns for various garment styles, including couture and ready-to-wear collections.
• Construct prototypes and samples, meticulously sewing and finishing garments to the highest luxury standards.
• Conduct fitting sessions, make necessary adjustments, and refine patterns based on feedback.
• Collaborate closely with designers and the production team to ensure design integrity and quality standards are maintained.
• Select and prepare fabrics, paying close attention to material properties and handling requirements.
• Operate and maintain a variety of industrial sewing machines and specialized equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to an exceptional standard, meeting project deadlines.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience as a Pattern Maker and Seamstress in a luxury fashion or atelier environment.
• Expert proficiency in pattern drafting, grading, and garment construction techniques.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, their properties, and appropriate handling methods.
• Exceptional sewing and finishing skills, with an acute attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into precise technical patterns.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and other atelier equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Formal qualification in fashion design, pattern making, or tailoring.
• Experience with CAD patternmaking software (e.g., Lectra, Gerber).
• Fluent in German or French in addition to English.
• A portfolio showcasing previous pattern making and garment construction work.
