Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled English Speaking Polymer Chemist to join our dynamic R&D team in Oerlikon, Zurich. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in the development and characterization of novel polymer materials for various high-performance applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, collaborate with international teams, and drive innovation within a leading specialty chemical company. You will be responsible for experimental design, synthesis, material testing, and data analysis, translating scientific insights into practical solutions.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, synthesize, and characterize new polymer materials with desired properties.
• Conduct comprehensive analytical testing using techniques such as GPC, DSC, TGA, FTIR, NMR, and rheology.
• Develop and optimize polymerization processes and formulations.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including materials scientists, engineers, and application specialists.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, data, and conclusions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the laboratory.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in polymer chemistry and related fields.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in polymer synthesis and characterization.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of various polymerization techniques (e.g., radical, condensation, coordination).
• Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques for polymer characterization.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective international collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with sustainable polymer materials or bio-based polymers.
• Familiarity with scaling up laboratory processes to pilot plant or production.
• Knowledge of polymer processing techniques (e.g., extrusion, injection molding).
• Proficiency in German is a plus, but not required.
